From 7 to 10 September Fabriano hosts the important initiative “Paper is Culture” of Fabriano Unesco Creative City.
Fabriano's membership in the international Craft and Folk Art UNESCO network and its role as coordinator of the other 12 Italian Creative Cities, which will meet here for the occasion, represent a factor of prestige and opportunity to cultivate qualified national and international relations and locally nourish a fertile humus for innovation and creativity, through culture.
The event presented by the Mayor Daniela Ghergo and the Councilor for Beauty Maura Nataloni was supported by the Marche Region in the person of the Councilor for Culture Chiara Biondi, the Aristide Merloni Foundation represented by Francesco Fantini, the Focal Point National Coordinator of Italian Creative Cities and of Fabriano Creativa Vittorio Salmoni, the Carifac Foundation with the President Dennis Luigi Censi, the Pia Università dei Cartai represented by Massimo Stopponi.
The initiative opens on Thursday 7 September at 9.30 am at Palazzo del Podestà with the meeting of the "coordination of Italian creative cities" and at 11 am with the conference "Dialogue around creative cities" with the introduction of Francesca Merloni UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Creative Cities with the interventions of the Mayors of the Creative Cities and of the candidate cities for the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, the UCCN Secretariat, the Italian UNESCO National Commission, the UNESCO Marche Designations, the Marche Region, the City of Fabriano, the Foundations of the territory, CNA and the other Associations, in a debate on best practices and future projects with the Rotary network of Italian UNESCO Creative Cities.
